Book Rec Tuesday - Super Attractor by Gabrielle Bernstein
I'm re-reading this book already and I just finished it. Super Attractor by Gabby Bernstein is so powerful! The main image I get when thinking of the book overall is this: there is this iridescent, multi-colored river that flows through time and space and is always within our reach. This river is the most beautiful path that we can be on to flow through this life, and we can immerse ourselves in it at any moment. Living in creativity, love, and happiness is what we can have if we bring ourselves there. I often find myself on the shore, anxious or upset about one thing or another. If you find yourself in a draining, unproductive mindset, you can imagine this river within arms reach and let yourself get taken by the flow of the water.
What Gabrielle says is this:
"The stream of well-being is an ever-present flow of love, creativity, inspiration, and peace. When our energy vibrates with love, we match the creative force of the Universe. When you're in this flow, you know that no matter your circumstances, there is a spiritual solution. You feel a sense of freedom and faith that what you desire is on the way even if you can't see it yet...When you're in alignment with the flow of the Universe, you are a Super Attractor creating the life you want and attracting more than you could otherwise imagine simply by choosing to feel good. Life is much easier when you realign with the Universe."
I didn't choose to read this book with attracting anything in mind, it was more that I've heard how helpful many people have found Gabby's works and I was interested in checking out her newest one. She writes about Love and the Universe and Spirit, but you don't have to be religious to follow along or take away amazing advice. Personally, I believe in energies, and I was able to use my own thoughts to understand spirituality in Gabby's terms. She guides you, very practically and with solid take-away's, to open yourself up to receiving positive energy. This positive energy takes you to a higher state of creativity, which then leads you to getting more of what you want (aka attracting!).
Here are some of my favorite mantras from the book:
- "I forgive my past, I release the future, and I honor how I feel in the present."
- "My body is rested and my mind is clear."
- "I am relaxed, nonresistant, and clear. My day unfolds with ease and grace."
- "I am open to receiving greatness."
- "Creative possibilities are available to me."
- "Everything is happening around me and I'm truly taken care of."
- "I bring joy to others. I bring light with me wherever I go."
That last one really resonated with me. I love to think of walking out the front door in the morning and being able to spread light wherever I go throughout the day.
Follow the link at the top to her website to find some guided meditations.
Everything I've shared here is from the first few chapters. I could really go on and on, quoting from every chapter of the book but I think you should go out and grab it! Or get her audio book, read by the author herself (the only way I'll listen to an audio book).
I can definitely see how this might not be for everyone, maybe it's too "spiritual" or "new age" for some. If you're open to it, give it a chance though. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I'll leave you with one more amazing quote from Super Attractor:
"Be kind and loving toward others while creating clear boundaries that protect your good-feeling emotions. You can choose how you perceive your world. You are the dreamer of your dream."
