Book Rec Tuesday - The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer
Tuesdays are for book reviews and recommendations! I spend most of my free time reading or knitting (am I 29 or 92?) and I have so many books that I want to share with you. It seems appropriate to do the first Book Rec Tuesday on The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. This one is a must-read, seriously.
What I really love about this book is that it speaks to you no matter what religion (or lack of one) that you follow. The advice is universal, it has no bounds. I recently finished reading The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer for the second time. I can't recommend it enough! No matter what phase of life you are in, the practices that Michael Singer teaches will bring more peace and freedom into your life. He helps you focus on taking emotions in, experiencing them, and then letting them go, in a really beautiful but simple way. The gist of it is this:
"You have to break the habit of thinking that the solution to your problems is to rearrange things outside. The only permanent solution to your problems is to go inside and let go of the part of you that seems to have so many problems with reality."
Beyond that, he walks through how to do that in such a direct and easy way. Then after you find your center of consciousness and remove yourself from those crazy, rushing thoughts that bog you down and drain you, your heart is open.
"You have a wellspring of beautiful energy inside of you. When you are open you feel it; when you are closed you don't. This flow of energy comes from the depth of your being. It's been called by many names. In ancient Chinese medicine, it is called Chi. In yoga, it is called Shakti. In the West, it is called Spirit. Call it anything you want."
I'll do a review of Super Attractor next week - it has a similar focus on the endless light, or energy, within that you can access at any time if you just find out how to get there. It takes practice. I can tell you after practicing reaching that place for a relatively short time I already feel less anxiety.
→ This book would make an amazing gift too.
Let me know what you think!!
